About UsSupported by the European Commission, Four European Plastic Industry Associations joined forces to launch a new Research and Development Project entitled ULTRA-MELT. The Polymer Machinery Manufacturers & Distributors Association (UK), The Danish Plastics Federation, AVEP Polymer Processors Association (Spain) and Assocomaplast (Italy) will be working together with member companies on an innovative energy saving development for the injection moulding and extrusion sector. The three-year project, 50% funded by the E.U., will work from Nov 2002 to Oct 2005 to develop new technology for the injection moulding and extrusion sectors, and will be looking at the possibility of improved polymer flow through the application of ultrasonic vibration. Dissemination of benefits to the Plastics Industry Sector during the project will reach some 20,000 European SME Injection moulders and extruders. |
